The Hugo Award winning talent is one of the most noted fantasy artists of the 20th century. Beginning his career with sci-fi pulp magazine and EC Comics work, Krenkel went on to become legendary for his illustrations for authors Edgar Rice Burroughs and Robert E. Howard. Krenkel's influence can be seen on artists such as Frank Frazetta, Bernie Wrightson, Stephen Hickman, Al Williamson, and The Shadow artist, Michael Wm.
