Our knowledge of the coasts and neighbourhood of Sicily is extremely deficient; and although there are the three Observatories of Palermo, Naples, and Malta, the exact position of either is undetermined. We are also unacquainted with the true place of the important land-fall Maritimo, which we are assured, by experienced.
